What You Will Learn
In this guide, you will learn how to:
– Describe the main characteristics of a propeller.
– Generate blade forms from a cascade of 2D foil shapes.
– Identify properties of the 2D foil and how foils are positioned in space.
Prerequisites
Before starting this guide, you will need:
– PropCad software installed in your computer.
– Example file for PropCad (Tutorial_BS4.hcpc)
Modules
This tutorial is divided up into 6 short modules. You must complete each module before moving to the next one.
1. Review propeller nomenclature, propeller construction (10 minutes).
2. Understanding propeller foil design (10 minutes).
3. Using PropCad to examine a propeller design (15 minutes).
4. Creating a report from the project. (5 minutes).
5. Creating a 2D drawing from the project (5 minutes).
6. Exporting a CAD file from the project (5 minutes).
